Let’s talk food for a minute.  And by food, I mean BBQ!  If you aren’t a connoisseur of BBQ, there are 4 major styles, Texas, Memphis, Kansas City and Carolina. Each style is known for their sauces or dry rubs along with the meat smoked.  Now I need to back up a bit before I get to Memphis BBQ and talk a little more about Jeffrey B and Me in Texas.  I won’t give away any of the real fun stuff until the end of my trip, as promised, but I have a confession; I visit Jeff in Texas but I also go for the BBQ.  There is something primeval about eating smoked meat and I can’t get enough of it.  So after my quick stop in Texas to see Jeff and eat BBQ, I couldn’t think of anything else on the way to Tennessee except for Memphis BBQ.  (Sorry Arkansas, I barely realized you were there.)  Let’s just say even after a 7 hour drive from Dallas to Memphis with me only thinking about BBQ, there was no let down with the Memphis BBQ dry rub ribs.  I went to bed with a full stomach and a smile on my face.  Next stop Nashville for a Vanderbilt graduation!
